Taken 3/31/10 in the nacelle of the ILCC wind turbine near the campus, I'm just a few feet from the roof with the best view of town at over 200' above ground and less than 2' from the edge of an open hatch that I could have fallen if I weren't "tied down" or "safetied" with one of my double lanyards. (although you can't see it in the picture, there was a tie-down point I used) At the extreme right are the seals separating the main shaft that the rotor is connected to. The rotor is the assembly of the "hub" or nose cone and the three attached blades, each are 40M (over 130') long. Also keep in mind the nacelle is where the major components of the turbine are housed. You can view additional images as I have time to upload through TwitPic under my Twitter username or www.markjamesmullins.com
FOREWARD:
Here's the FAQ, the Simple 411, the Basics you should know on following Mark James Mullins -aka- windmechanic on Twittertm. Because of past instances of increased marketing and tweetyspamtm being encountered nearly every time I had posted something new (because of scripts reading the public timeline of Twitter), I have implemented a policy of accepting followers to preserve some quality of the tweets I want to read. Of course if I've personally invited you to follow me, that means we've at least met and I'll gladly accept and follow you, and if I followed you first, then the following will likely not apply.

It's not that I have anything against marketers, but are you actually marketing something I WANT in the first place? You'll notice I have varied interests and openly allow any marketers of equine related goods, ham radio, wind energy, cryptocurrency, various political viewpoints and many quality people following me and I follow them automatically. Some of them market themselves but don't tweet solely on that basis. THAT'S what I'm looking for. Less noise and that you don't block me. Give me a reason to keep you and you're in like flint! I will also use the term "PL0NK", which in regard to Twitter is the same as being blocked, usually as permanent by me unless you approach me in person to request I remove your block, then we'll talk. You can scroll down and click the link to gain the usenet definition. This set of guidelines are basic, not necessairly all-inclusive, and subject to addition or modification.

  1. When it comes to following me, you're usually in to stay, even if you choose not to follow me back after a period of time AND your tweets continue to be of quality. I will block you without hesitation if you DM (direct message on Twitter) me with intent of scamming me. The month of October, 2019 is noteable as there were a huge amount of scams, cryptocurrencies and utility tokens scams pitched. I am not having ANY OF IT! You must contact me in person, no exceptions, if you truly have something serious for me to consider. Even then, I'm very sceptical toward most parties whom I've not known a long time and I will of course conduct research into any proposals before being comfortable enough to join in, spare jumping in! No short-term time limits to invest will be tolerated as that spells a potential scam, too.
  2. Do not reach out to me for "serious love!" I don't know strangers and treat them as such. I don't care for children or adults who act like children. During 2018, a "woman" claiming she was serious about me through the direct message or DM feature got her account removed. I didn't fall for her hook but this person, likely a man attempting to "catfish" other men for money, got reported by someone else and had that account removed by Twitter. Note at the time, military men were being scammed by South Carolina prisoners as the bad guys had nothing to lose but their internet access. Why any state grants access to inmates without proper supervision in the first place is beyond my comprehension!
  3. If you do nothing but boast about how to get more followers and don't market anything other than marketing one's self, especially if I sense you've subscribed to any service which harvests other users to automatically add to such marketing, I will quickly PL0NK you! In Other Words, I will permanently block you with no chance whatsoever that you'll be reinstated under the username you followed me, with exception you contact me in person, then we'll talk and I will likely remove the block.
  4. If you follow me under a username that has no activity, in other words, no tweets at all on your username, you're highly subject to being PL0NKed. There are more and more "b0tS" who follow me, most of them female with very pretty glamour shots, size N to Z boobs which nearly tear off their tops, and outright reek of bullshit, a few I believe are being launched by other followers who if discovered will get PL0NKed. I dump b0ts as I review their lack of activity or how r0b0t1c their comments happen to be. I am of course willing to allow and follow someone HUMAN I know who establishes a second Twitter name, if they notify me of the details in advance.
  5. I DO NOT care about pR0n, porno, smut, streakers or other nekked people being spammed to me. Have some class and wear some clothing already! Tweetyspammers of this sort are quickly PL0NKed. Now, if your followers as a rule of thumb receive naked tweets, that alone is not a deal-killer. I deal with a few images of this sort from followers I have no problems with, as some of them are funny!
  6. No matter how discreet it may be packaged, SPAM IS SPAM! Fortunately, Twitter has a reporting feature that makes life easy for me to report repetitive tweetyspammers.tm Although spammers will never read this page, they can't say they weren't warned!
The best way to ensure I get your message is to "@windmechanic" me unless we follow each other and you can utilize the direct message feature (syntax: d windmechanic text_of_message_to_280_characters_total. OR the Direct Message form menu/box.) Direct messages get first priority since they're secure, yet subject to the aforementioned rules. My disclosed email is subject to change in the future.
